The Clueless Christian

Isaiah 35

For waters will break forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert. And the burning sand (mirage) will become a pool [of water] and the thirsty ground springs of water; [Verse 6,7]

The entire chapter is prophesying about Jesus the Messiah and the joy, restoration and healing He would bring in His majesty, splendour and glory at His incarnation.  The good news that Jesus wants to share His kingdom with humanity.

Verses 5 and 6 mentions four healings that Jesus fulfilled while incarnated in the flesh. The eyes of the blind would be opened. The ears of the deaf would be unstopped. The lame would leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute would shout for joy.

Earlier in the chapter Isaiah urges those familiar with this good news to

encourage the exhausted, make staggering knees firm, to say to those with anxious and panic-stricken hearts, ‘Be strong, fear not!’

Jesus has left and returned to heaven, but in His place, He has sent His Holy Spirit to be God that now lives in our hearts. We are Jesus to the world. We should share the living waters of the Holy Spirit with those still in the desert and cool the sand with the pools of His divine and eternal spring.

Encourage and strengthen those around you with the good news of Jesus Christ.
